Made Just for Them

Made Just for Them

Designed with kids in mind

Fire Kids Edition starts in Amazon FreeTime, which is built from the ground up just for kids. The background color and fonts change to a kid-friendly design, they only see the titles that they have access to see, the home screen carousel shows their recently viewed titles, and they can even navigate visually to content based on characters or topics.

Profiles designed for kids…

Parents can create up to four individual child profiles and choose titles from their own collection of content that they want to give each of their kids access to. It’s like giving each kid his or her very own, personalized tablet. A child’s profile does not have access to in-app purchases, email, or social media features.

…And for parents

Parents can take Fire Kids Edition out of Amazon FreeTime using a password. Fine tune settings, download apps, or share kids’ drawings with family on Facebook. You can choose specific books, videos, and apps for your child to see in Amazon FreeTime from your library or when you purchase new content from Amazon.

Amazing value, two years accidental damage cover and FreeTime. Read on for a non-techie review As a life-long Apple fan I’m surprised to find myself going to the dark side – writing a positive but balanced review of the Amazon Fire Tablet – “Kids Edition”.I’ve owned several iPad’s and tested and reviewed numerous inexpensive (sometimes “cheap and nasty”), 7 and 10 inch tablets for kids, and was impressed by this – as was my 3 year old granddaughter. As I work in IT, I’m aware just how confusing…

Perfect for our younger one, but 1 complaint We have an old 3rd gen iPod touch for travel for my 13 month old daughter, but she expresses more interest in my iPhone 6+ than the tiny iPod. When Amazon launched this refresh, we jumped on it for an upcoming 3 hour plane trip. After spending 2 days using it, I’m satisfied with it, and it keeps the baby’s interest.I had a couple questions about it in the back of my mind, before it arrived, and perhaps you have the same:Q: Which model of Fire tablets is this most…

Great tablet for the money, wish it had a hard home button. This review is based on it being used as a kids tablet. My 19 month old is very adept at using my iPhone 6 and has a ball with it. So I decided to buy her the Fire Kids Edition tablet because of the warranty and Amazon Free Time unlimited. The tablet itself is excellent for the price point. I put a 64 gig sd card in it and I can load it up with videos and apps to her hearts content. However the standard Android “soft” home and back button that requires a swipe up from the bottom of…
